Interpreter of dreams

A beautiful dream is worth thousand thoughts. I have not read Freud and other psychological geniuses but dreams have always amazed me. For most mornings, I forget what I dreamt at night. To be honest I don't know whether I dream or not everyday. I think we need to dream in some time period at night to remember it in the morning.

I used to have a friend whose dreams came true, literally. She would have dreams like one of her friends or family getting sick or how she would fare in a future exam. Once she actually figured out her grandma’s death. This is actually little eerie. Though we all love to know our future, it is the uncertainty that keeps us going. Another friend of mine would have funnier dreams about the characters she read in books. When Delhi was under terrorist threat, she dreamt how she used machine guns to keep her place safe from invaders.

The dreams become bizarre when we try to link things not related to each other. We can laugh at these as we know they do not convey much meaning. But there are some, which help us steer in the right direction. If my mind is disturbed for sometime, many times I have found answer in my dreams. I have actually solved few of my physics problems like that. I have also read that many solutions dawn human mind when mind is at rest. May be that is the state when our conscience is in play and it advices us what is right for us. Whether the answer is in favor or not, there is peace in heart and this feeling can be a cure to depression.

I have never tried to interpret my dreams too much because I feel sometimes over analysis deviate from the path of actual cause. It is just the moment of tranquility in the morning that I look for. We seek for peace outside because there is so much chaos within us but the reality is peace is within us.

Physics problems in the dreams !!! You should have turned out to be a scientist. Ya silly me had a dog chasing me in my dreams. May be because, i have this fear as lots of street dogs on the roads.

Joy, I have vivid dreams based on family happenings and stuff I read and worry about. But sometimes they happen to bring closure to things.

My mother passed away in an extremely sudden manner, at my house, en route from a trip to the USA to her own house, in another city close by. My father insisted on living in their house, now alone, and we went to settle him in and organize things.

I remember having a dream where I entered the house(they lived upstairs), and found her sitting on the steps downstairs. The stairs in the dream were wider, and the walls around were brightly white. When I asked her, whay she was sitting like this, she said she was unable to climb. So I lifted her up in my hands, and carried her upstairs into her own house. That was the end of the dream.

See, she had returned from visiting her sons abroad and was unable to get back to her own house. She was with me when she passed away. I think this yearning to return to ones own abode, and put closure on a life ,lived in so many hues and colors, manifested itself as a dream in my sleep.

She never appeared in a dream after that for me....

I used to have a book called Dreamers Dictionary some years back home...
something similar to this
http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/

what it stated was that what you dreamt was actually an opposite of what is happening in your real life.

Life seeing death, accidents, fire etc was actually good....never tried to beleive it but its fun to dwell into it if you remember them....

Sumana: Oh no. It happened once or twice during 12th boards. More out of fear than anything else. I am afraid of street dogs too...

XH: Maybe.

Prats: Dreams can be enchanting. BTW I love your wise owl profile.

Suma: Try it once. It can be interesting.

Ugich: That was profound. Dreams sometimes do convey us something if we listen hard enough. Infact, if we can listen life, it definitely conveys something.

Ceedy: I have heard about reverse meanings of dreams too. But if you try to analyse without any pre knowledge, it can be interesting. Its the feeling - either agitation or serenity that comes with it makes the whole difference.

True in simple terms how you perceive it or rather what is your current state of mind to interpret its meaning - it could actually turn out to be a living nightmare!

To evolve or not...
